How-to guide
How to run a one-day talent competition
Run a talent competition in a single day — at a school, college fest, society or mall: registrations before, one round of judging on the day, and the winner by evening.
Many talent competitions happen in a single day: a school annual day, a fest afternoon, a society’s festival evening or a weekend at a mall. There is no time for weeks of rounds — everyone performs, the judges mark, and the winner is announced the same evening.
MJX Events Talent Hunt handles this with one round. That round is the final: judges mark everyone and you choose the winner.
What makes one day work
Registrations before the day
Close entries a day or two early so you can plan the running order.
A short shortlist
Shortlist only the acts that fit the time you have on stage.
One round, one final
Set rounds to 1. Judges mark everyone; no eliminations in between.
Winner by evening
The average is ready when the last act finishes, so you announce on time.
How it works
- 1
Create your talent hunt on MJX Events and set the number of rounds to 1.
- 2
Choose the talents, set the last date to register and share the registration link.
- 3
Shortlist the acts for the day; each is told on WhatsApp with their registration number.
- 4
On the day, judges give marks out of 10 as each act finishes.
- 5
When the last act is done, choose the winner on the Rounds page and announce them.
Questions and answers
- Can a talent competition have only one round?
- Yes. With one round, that round is the final: nobody is eliminated in between, judges mark everyone and you choose the winner.
- How many acts fit in one day?
- Allow about five minutes per act plus changeovers. Shortlist only as many as your stage time allows.
- Can I sell tickets for the event?
- Yes. Switch on MJX Events ticketing to sell passes online by UPI and on printed QR tickets, checked at the gate on any phone.
