Privacy Policy
Last updated 24 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data MJX Events, operated by MJX Technologies LLP, collects and how we use it, in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
What we collect
- Ticket buyers: name, email, mobile number, the tickets you bought and when they were scanned at the gate.
- Organizers: name, email, mobile, organization and city; for payouts, the details our payment partner needs — legal name, business type, PAN, address and bank account.
- Photos: only the photos and videos an organizer chooses to add to an event or to their "past events". We keep a smaller copy of an uploaded photo. For a Google Drive folder an organizer shares, we show its pictures from Google Drive and do not copy them. A video an organizer adds as a link (YouTube, Google Drive, Vimeo) is not copied either: it is shown from that service inside our page, and only when you tap it — that service then sees your visit under its own privacy policy. In the app, the phone asks whether to allow all photos or only the ones you select; the allowed ones are shown on your phone so you can choose, and only the ones you add are uploaded. The rest never leave the phone. When this feature is enabled, the app also sends small preview thumbnails (200 × 200 pixels) of the allowed photos to MJX so we can suggest which ones would look best on the event page; these previews are visible only to MJX and are not shared with anyone else.
- Notifications (only if you allow them): the app asks once. If you allow them, your phone gets an address from Google Firebase that MJX keeps so it can send you notifications from MJX Events (festival greetings, offers and news about the app; for MJX staff, new accounts). It is linked to your account while you are signed in and unlinked when you sign out. Turn them off any time in your phone's Settings; nothing else changes.
- Location (only if you allow it): the exact place of the phone when a gate scanner or an organizer opens the gate scanner, so the organizer and MJX can see that tickets are scanned at the venue; and the area, to about 1 km, when an organizer signs in to the app or a seller records a sale. It is read only at those moments, never in the background. Saying no changes nothing, with one exception: an organizer can make location a must for their own gate staff, and then a gate phone has to allow it before it can scan. An organizer can also switch gate location off for an event; the places saved for that event are then removed.
- Sellers: name, email, mobile, place, and the sales they record (amount, payment method, buyer's mobile if given).
- Technical: sign-in cookies, device labels for gate phones, and server logs (such as IP address) used for security and rate limiting.
We never see or store your card, UPI or net-banking details. Payments are handled by Razorpay under its own privacy policy.
How we use it
- To sell and deliver tickets, email them to you and let you find them again.
- To check guests in and prevent a ticket being used twice.
- To process payments, pay organizers and meet tax and accounting rules.
- To run accounts, sign-in codes and support, and to prevent fraud and abuse.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use advertising trackers.
Who we share it with
- The event organizer sees the name, email and mobile of people who buy tickets for their event, and their check-in status. Organizers use this data under their own responsibility.
- Razorpay and Zoho Payments, to take payments and pay organizers.
- Email and hosting providers that deliver our emails and run our servers, only as needed to provide the service.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
Security and retention
Data is sent over HTTPS. Bank account numbers and payment keys are stored encrypted, and access is limited to people who need it. We keep data while your account is active or as long as needed for the event and for legal, tax and dispute purposes, then delete or anonymise it.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to run the scanner and seller apps. No advertising or tracking cookies.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent, by emailing info@mjxtechnologies.com. Some records (such as payment and tax records) must be kept by law. MJX Events is not meant for children under 18 to use on their own; a parent or guardian should buy tickets for them.
